I know the National Pygmy Goat Association just revised its showmanship manual, but doesn't have a video. You can buy it off their website at http://www.npga-pygmy.com We raise and show pygmies, our goats are shown in their natural coat, only very minimal trimming (like a doe's beard) is allowed. I think for most meat breeds only the market wethers are body clipped (seems odd to me to clip the ones destined for slaughter...anyway...) and the breeding bucks and does are left natural. Of course dairy does are shown with a full body clip, using a #10 blade on the body and using about a #30 blade on the udder but leaving a small squared off brush on the end of the tail, dairy bucks are the same except they also leave the head largely untrimmed especially the beard. Consideration should be made for the temperatures and weather conditions at the time of the show. Most judges will not fault an otherwise fine animal for not being fully trimmed if its just too cold.
